CSLOA Fourth of July fireworks will be held on July 12 at dusk.  Part of your CSLOA dues buy the fireworks and our Volunteer Firemen shoot them off.  Come and enjoy the fireworks and support these two organizations.

Note to all new home and lot owners: You need a permit from the CSCD office to make just about any changes to your home or property.  This includes a new dock, out building or about any other change.  It's better to get a permit than get half way through a project and find a "STOP WORK" order in your mailbox.  The building rules and regulations are posted on this site.  To see them click HERE.

Since the Conservancy has their own website for releasing information on what they think is important, I'd like to change this website to do something I find missing from available information.  I have trouble finding information on reliable contractors to get things done at the lakes.  Things like getting boats repaired, home repairs, lawn mowing, leaf raking, roof repairs, etc.  If you've had work done at the lake and would like to write a recommendation for a contractor, please email it to me and I'll post it on the website.  Also, if you have time and would like to help with the upkeep of this website (I will teach you how to edit pages!), please email that information also.  I work full time in Indy and don't have a lot of time to spare.  I will only publish your recommendation not your name or phone number.  The is open to CSCD lot owners only.  Rules

Building Permit Rules

The process now being followed to obtain a CSCD Building Permit is as follows. The Building Rules & Regulations state, All plans and specifications for construction of a dwelling or out building or improvements and additions to structures must be submitted to, and approved by, the Building Control Commission before applying for Brown County Permits.

The CSCD Building Commission meets the first Tuesday of every month except January.  Permit applications must be in the CSCD Office not later than 4:00pm the last Tuesday of the month in order to be placed on the agenda for the following meeting. The Building Control Officer may no longer approve permits before they are presented to the Building Control Commission.

I've added the current information on the "Septic Inspection Program" to the website.  It's under the tab for "Rules & Regulations".  Those selected for mandatory inspection of their septic system will be notified in January.  Selection for the groupings was done randomly by computer.

The 2014 Cordry Boat Parade will take place at 8:00 PM on July 5.  Decorate your boat or not and come join us.  We would love to have pictures of this year's parade.  Please send them to babserra@gmail.com and we will try to post them.

How can CSLOA help our Community more. Let us know by coming to our regular meetings on the fourth Thursday of each month. New members always welcome.

RECYCLE

The CSCD office now has a drop box to recycle CFL light bulbs.  They're the small curly floresent  bulbs that are now replacing standard light bulbs.  Be careful not to break them as they do contain mercury.

St Vincent de Paul of Brown County would like to ask the residents of the Lakes area to remember St. Vincent's when they want to donate usable items such as, mattresses, box springs, furniture, linens, household items or clothing. To learn more about St Vincent's , click here.
